Initial Meeting

The initial meeting:
The first meeting will be conducted on site. The goal of this meeting is to discuss the goals of your project and there feasibility. Whether you want to replace your flooring or you need to add another bedroom the same questions apply:

What is it you want to accomplish?

Having all the influential members of the family at this meeting is important. It is commonly found that during a project each spouse has different needs and wants. The more input at this time allows us to have more realistic idea of what your project is.

What is your budget?
A general dollar amount you want to invest in your home is very important, this helps us focus on the conceptual plan, and give you realistic feedback on your project.

What is your time frame to complete the project?
Is this project to be completed before school starts? Before you move in? While you are on Vacation?

What is your families routine and how will it impact the project?
What time can we start in the morning, How will we stage the project to minimize the disruption to you? Does anyone in the family have allergies to dust? Is the project Feasible within your expectations? After discussing the above questions, Based on scope of work, budget, and schedule, is your project feasible?

Conceptual Plan and Proposal

Conceptual Plan and Proposal
After the initial meeting we will be able to complete a conceptual plan and budget for your project. In many cases we use a 3d rendering program to create a visual aid for our next meeting. We will meet to review your design layout and discuss likes and dislikes about the project. We will also have a proposal based on the conceptual design so you can make an educated decision on whether you want to add or take away from the concept.

Initial estimates are free, however if the conceptual plan is complex, a retainer may be required to complete the conceptual drawings. If necessary this will be discussed at the first meeting. The initial meetings enable us to get to know one another. It is very important that you feel as comfortable with us as we do with you. Because we are in your home and working around your familys daily routines, the confidence in each other, communication and an understanding of the construction schedule will enable a successful project.

Once a concept and budget is approved a formal contract is signed by both parties. This contract will have an outline of the scope of work, schedule, and payment schedule included. After completion of the contract, working drawings, finish schedules, and any remaining decisions are completed and signed off on prior to permits being submitted.

The project will start after permits have been approved. Construction meeting will be scheduled as needed throughout the project to keep you up to date with the progress and with any decisions that will need to be made. If changes to the project are requested, a change order will be written and signed by both parties.

At the end of the project a walk through will be completed between the home owner and contractor to review the project, any specific product instructions, and make a punch list of any items that may need to be corrected or discussed.
